10 Interesting Things I Found on the Internet this Week! #6

GoPro’s have been around for a while now and I just love the videos that come out with them. This one came out earlier this year!

So hold onto your seats, crank up the sounds, and put it on full-screen cos you’re in for a ride!!

2. Care for a terrifying stroll on China’s new skywalk? Ummmm . . . no thanks!

A new glass walkway opened to the public in China this week. Yikes!

I’m actually OK with heights but I’ve seen and read about various other ones around the world and it seems to me they don’t exactly have a great track-record, like here, and here, and here. (okay the last one is a rumor I just made up – the Grand Canyon glass walkway has NOT cracked people . . . but it MIGHT!)

The Coiling Dragon Cliff skywalk clings to the side of Tianmen Mountain in Hunan’s Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, spans 100 meters in length, is 1.6 meters wide, and is a crazy 1400 meters (4600 feet) in the air.

I want to know who BUILDS these things?? – do they get danger money?

3. A Steampunk-Themed Cafe Filled with Kinetic Sculptures Opens in Romania

From the creators of the Submarine bar I brought to you in a previous post, 6th Sense Interiors also bring you another of their wild creations – the Enigma Café, in Romania.

Claiming to be ‘the world’s first kinetic steampunk bar’, the café took 2 years to create, the interior is based around Time, and includes all the usual LED lighting to compliment the cogs and clocks and kinetic devices adorning the walls and ceilings.enigma-cafe-cluj-design-interior-18 enigma-cafe-cluj-design-interior-16 enigma-cafe-cluj-design-interior-17 enigma-cafe-cluj-design-interior-19 enigma-cafe-cluj-design-interior-37 enigma-cafe-cluj-design-interior-4 enigma-cafe-cluj-design-interior-36

There is even a rather terrifying humanoid robot with a plasma lamp in its cranium that cycles away continuously inside the front door.

Check out the video for a looksee inside this amazing place, and if you’re in the area you can visit Enigma Cafe at Enigma at Iuliu Maniu, Nr 12, Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

4. Yes for just a lazy $79.95, you can torment the hell out of your cat ALL day!!

How good is this!!?

Your cat will just love you to bits when you buy them this masterful piece of technology — a Digital Feline Scratching Post. Yes you heard it here first!

‘When activated, the scratch post starts a series of lasers that begin to be shifted around the post to engage felines in a bit of play. The unit can be set to slow, medium, fast and randomized to be used and is an exceptional way for cats to stay in shape.’

‘ . . . the Laser Cat Scratching Post is designed to help offer a way to help keep them active and engaged all day long’.

(Honestly, you can’t make this stuff up!)

Where was I? – oh yes . . . And it can be used for one or more cats – Brilliant!!

Fun for ALL the family! – I’ll have 2 please!  🙂

Don’t blame me if Tiddles is blind when you get home either!

5. REPLACEMENT Samsung Galaxy 7 catches fire – this time on a plane.

Honestly, why would ya?

New owner Brian Green was on a Southwest Airlines flight when his phone started smoking (obviously didn’t heed the safety instructions before take off – trays up. NO smoking!)

The plane was evacuated, there were no injuries, and Brian reckons he only picked up his new phone about 3 weeks ago – D’OH!

Have another crack Samsung!

6. Spooky photos of an abandoned amusement park.

Nature has Definitely taken over at this abandoned theme park located in Nara, a suburb of Osaka, Japan.

Romain Veillon, better known for his escapades in abandoned places on Pinterest, shows us an eerie series of pics from Nara Dreamland, complete with lonely, dormant merry-go-rounds and rusty, overgrown rollercoasters.

What should be a place of fun and teeming with people is now a forlorn, almost desolate location where nature is hellbent on taking back!

7. Can our Aussie Koalas get any cuter? – this one has his photo-shoot interrupted and it’s gorgeous!

Filmed at the Symbio Wildlife Park, in New South Wales just recently, this koala joey makes a new friend while he’s being filmed!

8. What’s on my Soundcloud playlist at the mo!

I’m gonna cop SO MUCH CRAP from my mates about this track, – so OK, I like KPop alright!! Some of her other stuff is pretty good as well! 😛

There’s actually a girl working in the local 7-Eleven that looks just like her. Maybe it’s her? – I’ll let you know!

9. This photo series of dogs catching treats is absolutely Hilarious!

Dogs just crack me up at the best of times, but German photographer Christian Vieler has captured them at their funniest, tossing them a treat and capturing the moment they try and catch it, and the results are pretty hilarious you have to admit – well it had me having a quiet giggle as I did this post anyway!

If you want to see a few more of these quietly addictive pics, visit him on his website!

 10. Rare pics of the Eiffel Tower being built have been unearthed at the Musée d’Orsay

Love these early pics of ‘La Tour Eiffel’ being built – I found this website but it’s all in French so my details could be a little sketchy (just like my French)!

From what I can gather though, it took around 2 years to build, and with only 200 workers – pretty good effort then if you ask me!- and pretty cool pics too!

For more pics head to the website!
