Figuratively elegant works from renowned Scottish sculptor

Philip Jackson is an award-winning Scottish sculptor known for his sublime, elegant style, earning him commissions to sculpt some of the better known figures around the UK and Europe, including HM Queen Elizabeth, the late HM Queen Mother, soccer star Bobby Moore, and Empress Elizabeth of Austria in Geneva.

His beautiful recent work seems to convey the thoughts and conditions of humans throughout the ages, most notably figures from the 17th or 18th C ‘Amadeus’ era of broad ‘Tricorne‘ hats and flowing frilled skirts, in an almost alien-like configuration sometimes.

He describes is art in the following words:

‘My sculptures are essentially an impressionistic rendering of the figure. Where you see the figure seemingly grow out of the ground, the texture resembles tree bark, rock, or lava flow. As the eye moves up the sculpture, the finish becomes gentler & more delicately worked, culminating in the hands and the mask, both of which are precisely observed & modeled.’

Love his work – Enjoy!
