Just like Britain’s Isle of Man TT, plans are afoot for the staging of a Sunshine Coast International TT in 2017, all going well of course!

If the event takes place, it will take in the verdant, hilly countryside in the area’s hinterland, around the town of Maleny – a favorite area for motorcyclists for many years, in Australia’s northern state of Queensland, and run over 3 days in December 2017, across a planned route of 47 kilometres, and include over 400 corners.

Talks are underway between a promoter and the local Sunshine Coast council to stage the event, and the locals are abuzz, with news that the event may inject between A$8-9million to the local economy.

Of course, Safety is on everyone’s lips, along with how the event may inconvenience the local community.

Recent developments over safety on these types of races – 5 riders have died this year alone at the famous Isle of Man TT, are an obvious concern!

Stay tuned for more details.
