These delicately crafted paper flowers are uniquely beautiful

Hard to believe Seattle-based artist Kate Alarcón creates these beautifully crafted and lifelike flowers out of paper, so realistic are the results.

Working predominantly with European crepe paper of varying weights, she creates delicate petals and stems, and even succulents that could almost be mistaken for the genuine article.

Often using the real thing as a point of reference, she meticulously checks for translucency and colour from a range of different crepe swatches before cutting into shape, colouring, curving and whatever else is needed to obtain the desired effect.

You can see more of her lovely creations on her Instagram feed or on her website. She also occasionally holds paper workshops if you happen to be in the Seattle area.
